VALORANT India’s first LAN event, Skyesports Grand Slam kicked off with a bang as Global Esports and Enigma Gaming went head-to-head against each other in the opening matchup.
The Skyesports Grand Slam is a very special event to the Indian Valorant Community as we finally got to experience our first ever LAN event since the game’s release back in April 2020. Many Valorant Influencers and Streamers showed up to the event to show their love and support for the game.
Although the event was with an all exclusive invite-only audience, their cheering and constant support for their favourite teams made it a tremendous success. It made us realise the true essence of esports and what we were missing in the past two years due to COVID.
The first matchup was in between Global Esports and Enigma Gaming and just like every other time these teams faced each other, it was one hell of a matchup!
Enigma came in with a bang by winning the first map (GE’s pick) with an easy 13-4 scoreline. The team looked very confident with their fights and Antidote’s excellent calling projected his deep understanding of the game.
But just when we thought it was all over, GE kicked back and won the second map, Ascent with 13-8 scoreline. People started chanting SKRossi’s name the entire map as his exceptional OPing skills sky-rocketed his team to victory!
The series decider, Spilt, was where both teams had enough. Both teams came in strong and as all great series go, it went to OVERTIME! The match ended after a triple overtime win in Enigma’s favour. GE SkRossi was the match MVP with 255 ACS and a whopping 62 kills to his name. The upcoming match is scheduled between Velocity Gaming and Team Snakes.
