Red Dead Redemption without a doubt is the biggest game of the year. The game is the new darling child of critics and fans. Red Dead Redemption also made some records in terms of sales. The Rockstar title made gross records in the entertainment industry. Red Dead Redemption is seeing the second highest grossing launch next to Grand Theft Auto V. Beyond this, Red Dead Redemption 2  also holds the record for entertainment's highest grossing weekend.
The game made $725m in retail sales during its first three days. However, Grand Theft Auto V, released in 2013 made $1bn during the same period. It is to be noted that Grand Theft Auto V was released on a Tuesday. After this announcement shares of Take-Two Interactive shot up to 11 percent on Tuesday.
Red Dead Redemption also set new records on the PlayStation Network. This ranges from the highest ever pre-orders and day one sales.
Rockstar Games has partnered with Sony to bring PlayStation 4 players first access to select online content in Red Dead Online which is planned to release this November.
