There is a question in everybody’s mind that when will Sony is going to release it’s Next-Gen-Console i.e. Playstation 5. In May 2018-head of PlayStation, John Kodera, said that the PS5 was “three years” away. However, plans change, and it’s also possible Kodera was merely trying to keep a lid on the rumors that were flying around at the time which were saying the PS5 would be released as soon as 2019 or the month of May 2020.
The PS5 is a “Monster,” Will Retail For $500 approx. But we can’t give you a proper price tag. This price range is predicted according to the specification of PlayStation 5. But we also know that Sony has a perfect chance to make money by selling this Beast Gaming Machine.
Will PS5 Be Backwards Compatible With PS4 games?
It is confirmed the PS5 will be backward compatible with PS4 games, as the two consoles are built upon similar internal architectures. SIE president Jim Ryan told CNET that backward compatibility and cross-gen are important for the PS5 to help players have a seamless transition. He said:
“Whether it’s backward compatibility or the possibility of cross-generational play, we’ll be able to transition that community to next-gen,” he said. “It won’t be a binary choice about whether you have to be either on PlayStation 4 or next-gen to continue your friendship.”
This another news that the Next-Gen Console will run faster and smoother than the previous one because of the use of SSD Drives.
Sony has confirmed the PlayStation 5 will contain an AMD chip that has a CPU based on the 3rd-generation Ryzen. It’ll have 8 Cores of the 7-nanometer Zen 2 microchip. The console will support 8K gameplay. Its Graphics are driven by a custom version of Radeon’s Navi line.
“Custom Navi GPU, 56CU, 1.8Ghz, 12.9TF. RT is hardware-based, co-engineered by AMD and Sony.”
This graphics chip will support ray tracing, which is most popular in video games. It also includes a 2TB SSD (Solid State Drive) and will fully support 3D audio. The PS5 will include a disc drive, so you will also able to buy and play physical games. PS5 will have 24GB RAM to do multitasking on the go.
The current PS-VR will be supported by PS5, as will the PlayStation Move controllers. “I won’t go into the details of our VR strategy, Sony “beyond saying that VR is very important to us and that the current PSVR headset is compatible with the new console.”
