‘Streets of Rage 4’ Officially Announced

24 years since it’s last installment, Streets of Rage finally shows its presence to the audience. Developed by Lizardcube, Guard Crush Games, and DotEmu,  has been officially announced.
The first look trailer for the upcoming sequel is below:

Streets of Rage 4 is in the works, publisher DotEmu has announced.

“Streets of Rage” is a classic side-scrolling brawler franchise from the 1990s. It’s perhaps best known for its EDM-influenced soundtracks scored by Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima. The last entry in the series, “Streets of Rage 3,” launched in 1994 for Sega consoles.

Streets of Rage 4 is a direct continuation of Sega’s arcade brawler series,  featuring Axel and Blaze as the playable characters, once again. It will feature sport hand-drawn visuals from Lizardcube, alongside new gameplay mechanics, solo and co-op play, new stages, and an original story. It will also introduce some new mechanics while staying true to its classic arcade roots. And, yes, there will be some form of co-op.
There’s no word yet on platforms, price, or release date for Streets of Rage 4.
