After about 9 months of drama, Krafton has launched Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), dubbed as the Indian version of PUBG Mobile.

Now that BGMI has been launched (early access currently), fans have been concerned about their valuable in-game data. While the game does allow you to transfer those items from PUBG account to BGMI, there is an issue. You can only transfer your accounts if it was linked to either Facebook or Twitter. Now, the problem is, a large section of PUBG mobile fans had linked their account only to Google Play. How are those users going to transfer PUBG account to BGMI Google Play?

There is an unofficial way, or workaround so as to say, that can help you achieve exactly this, transfer PUBG account to BGMI with Google Play. However, this method requires you to access PUBG Mobile using a VPN.

First things first, you are going to need access to your PUBG Mobile account. If you have already deleted the game, you are going to need to download it again. Just follow the steps below.

  • Go to Tap Tap
  • Search 'PUBG Mobile'
  • Follow on-screen instructions
  • Install the game
  • Connect to a VPN
  • Login to your account

How to transfer PUBG account to BGMI Google Play?

To transfer your in-game data, you will obviously need BGMI installed on your mobile. If you have not already, here is an awesome way to download and install BGMI early access. Once you have both PUBG Mobile and BGMI installed, you can proceed with the step by step guide below to transfer PUBG account to BGMI.

  • Connect to a VPN

    You need to connect to a VPN in order to access PUBG Mobile.

  • Open PUBG Mobile and login

    Open PUBG Mobile and login with your old (the account that you want to transfer data from) credentials.

  • Link your old account to a Facebook or a Twitter account.

    You need to link your old account to a social media so that all your data is associated with it. You can then access it later in BGMI.

  • Go to sensitivity settings, and copy the code from Cloud Layout Management

    It does not transfer sensitivity settings when you transfer data from PUBG to BGMI. So, to be on the safe side, you should keep the Layout Code before starting data transfer.

  • Close PUBG Mobile and VPN

  • Open and login to BGMI

    You can login using any of the available methods, it doesn't matter.

  • Follow in-game instructions

    You will need to configure a few things after logging in. You can move to the next step after completing everything.

  • 'Account Date Transfer' popup will appear

  • Click on 'Yes, please continue'

    The popup will have some legal mumble-jumble. You can skip reading it.

  • Select from Facebook or Twitter

    You have to select the social media platform that you used in PUBG Mobile. For example, if you linked your account to Facebook in the previous steps, select Facebook. Then click 'Ok' button.

  • Login with the social media account

    After you hit ok, an embedded login page will appear. Login with the same account that you used in previous steps.

  • Tap 'Yes'

    Just tap yes on the consent page, and your data transfer will begin.

Note: You won't be able to access your old account post data transfer. You can transfer data from PUBG Mobile to BGMI till 31 December 2021.
