A recent Valorant bug has been crashing the game when users visit the career screen. This happened to even Ninja on stream, so this not due to your setup. Valorant crashing on career screen for you too? Read on.
A new Valorant bug was encountered for the first time on 8 December 2020, which crashes the game. It so happens that when you visit the career tab in-game, either your or someone else's, it gets stuck and crashes. However, nothing happens if you check someone's career who has not played recently, around the past week. A similar kind of bug had appeared after the 1.11 patch too.
If this is happening to you too, don't rage, as there is nothing wrong with your setup. As I said earlier, this happened to Ninja too, and this is happening to almost everyone. Seems like there is some error with the Valorant client itself.
As of now, the only way to stop this 'crashing on career screen' is to not open the career tab. However if you have already done that, and if you are like me, you would have restarted your PC altogether. But if you are currently stuck and figuring out what to do, there are a few things to get out of the Valorant client without restarting your PC.
You can follow the steps below if Valorant is crashing on the career screen, and you are currently stuck, to get out of the game.
Press Win+Tab keys
Click on 'New Desktop' at the top left of your screen
Drag Valorant client to 'Desktop 2'
Come back to 'Desktop 1' by clicking on it
Open Task Manager
Find and close the Valorant client
If your PC has crashed completely, and the above steps did not work, you will have to restart your PC. However, you can try to open Task Manager in different ways like pressing the 'Ctrl+Alt+Delete' keys.
We hope Riot soon releases a hotfix. The bug is pretty avoidable if you are aware of it, don't do it until it has been fixed. If you have fixed the 'Valorant crashing on career screen' bug in some other ways, do let us know in the comments below.
