PlayStation will be pulling out from E3 2019 and the news is official. PlayStation has been a very active presence in E3 since 1995. After 24 years of appearance, this is the first time Sony is backing out from E3. PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo presentations play a huge part in making E3 a success each year. However, this time PlayStation will not be a part of that. Xbox and Nintendo will be on E3 2019. Sony backing out could give more spotlight for Xbox this year. However, Sony could be planning to do something big. This leads us to speculate that they could be gearing up to announce their next console.
PlayStation gave a statement regarding this which goes,
“As the industry evolves, Sony Interactive Entertainment continues to look for inventive opportunities to engage the community,” said Sony in a statement. “PlayStation fans mean the world to us and we always want to innovate, think differently and experiment with new ways to delight gamers. As a result, we have decided not to participate in E3 in 2019. We are exploring new and familiar ways to engage our community in 2019 and can’t wait to share our plans with you.”
Beyond this, PlayStation also skipped the PlayStation Experience event for this year. All this could mean either PlayStation is gearing up for something big or they are out of gas. We assume that they are up for something big.
