Team Yellow Submarine, another CIS competitor, has reported that some of their players had received offers to throw in their series against Na‘Vi. The player 'Collapse' was offered 1 million Russian rubles, or nearly 13,000 US dollars. The money was offered to be split between him and two of his teammates who would also be brought in as part of the deal if they didn’t tell 'Korb3n' (manager) and agreed to throw.
Redditor @evilrapich translated the conversation between 'Collapse' and the match-fixer as: "Hi, there's [an] opportunity to make some good money on tomorrow match against Navi. More than prize money you get win or lose. If you agree don't tell your manager, beside you there will be 2 players from your team. You 3 will share 1 million rubles +", to which 'Collapse' replied with "no tnx".
A larger investigation will likely be launched after the conclusion of ESL One Germany on November 1.
Team manager Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov stated that the first player approached was offlaner Magomed 'Collapse' Halilov. He was offered 1 million Russian rubles, which is nearly $13,000 USD. The money was offered to be split between him and two of his teammates who would also be brought in as part of the deal if they didn’t tell Korb3n and agreed to throw.
Korb3n stated “After yesterday's news from the bookmakers, I was rather skeptical about their arguments, which, in general, were not, apart from textual statements, since, at this level, leakage matches are absurd, the favorite was obvious, and the odds were too high. But on a beautiful morning today, one of my players received such an offer with a rather tempting amount of "compensation". The main thing is not to tell the manager."
He added further, "I can imagine that such proposals were received/received not only by the players from my team. Therefore, the question remains open, but this is the first time I've seen such offers at this level.”
