Valorant to unprecedentedly overhaul economy, Judge nerf incoming

By |

Valorant is apparently overhauling its whole economy system in an unprecedented move, as per a popular data-miner Valor Leaks. Economy is one of the most important 'skills' in tactical shooters like Valorant and Counter Strike. It takes at least months to formulate a viable economy strategy which takes into account unimaginable number of variables including weapon performance.

Game publishers adjust the prices of weapons to make it more balanced, but it happens over time and only to few weapons at a time usually. However, Riot Games has apparently taken a bold step to completely overhaul the whole economy at once and surprised everyone. Pro players are going to have a hard time next few months!

A popular data miner posted about the Valorant economy changes on twitter.

The table below shows new weapon prices, which is expected to be effective from Episode 3 Act 1.

  • Frenzy : 500 >>> 450
  • Stinger : 1100 >>> 950

  • Judge: 1600 >>> 1850

Operator buffed, Judge nerfed

The Operator was expensive to a point that it could make or break your game. We did not see much of Operator picks in pro plays (including the VCT masters) due to this very reason. The new price of Operator will be 4700 cred, which will make it slightly more viable pick. In the sniper category, Marshal's price has also been reduced, and this is not the first time. The new price of Marshal is just 950 creds, which has suddenly made it the go to weapon for the initial rounds. Moreover, Marshal's no-scope is also 100% accurate.

On the other hand, the destructive Judge is to become costlier now. Judge was arguably the best weapons for close range.
