Riot Games is celebrating Valorant's one year anniversary by giving away tons of rewards to the community. It looks like instead of just giving away things to make the community happy, it is actually trying to make the game superior. I being a former CSGO nerd, find it very weird as Valve for a fact did not care at all about the community or the game.
What is a PBE?
Riot Games decided to take the game to the next level by creating and launching a Public Beta Environment(PBE) to identify bugs in future patches before releasing them. According to Riot’s announcement, the organization has introduced the PBE to help smooth out their patch cycle and find bugs. Riot Games has already implemented a PBE for League of Legends. Signing up for the said PBE means the people who'll join the environment will get another account and will be able to play on unreleased patches and submit feedback about it to Riot Games!
Currently, this PBE is only available to the North American region.
WHY A PBE?
"Simply put, our bi-weekly patch cadence could use some extra help to identify bugs and evaluate stability before we lockdown what stays and goes into our patches. This includes Agent and weapon balance, game systems, competitive, and the other updates that are usually captured in our Patch Notes." Riot said.
How to apply for it?
Just click here to apply. Keep in mind the environment is only for select accounts from North American region meaning you're not guaranteed to get a PBE account if you've applied for it.
The sign up requirements are:
Your Live VALORANT account must:
- Have no current bans or restrictions.
- Must be in the North America region, and you must consistently play from there.
The new VALORANT PBE launches on July 9th 2021, a few days after a new patch of the cycle is up to date.
