Project I.G.I: I'm Going In is a tactical FPS (First-person-shooter) series which was released in 2000 by Eidos Interactive. As a result of the huge fan-base, the game got its first sequel in 2003, called IGI 2: Covert Strike.
Developed by Innerloop Studios and published by Eidos Interactive, IGI 2 was also a huge success like IGI 1. As a result of which we are now witnessing the arrival of IGI 3.
Norwegian studio Artplant has recently purchased the long-absent Eidos franchise from Square Enix because they wish to revive the series.
The new game is developed by Norwegian studio Artplant, which was founded by the members of original IGI developer Innerloop Studios.
Artplant head Jack K. Wulff confirmed that the new IGI is in development, but didn’t reveal much else saying, "We don't have much to announce at this point, other than that the game will be called IGI - We're Going In," a slight play on the original title that suggests a focus on multiplayer.
Protagonist of the former two games David Jones is also returning in IGI 3 campaign according to a Tweet by Artplant.
As for how the game’s development is progressing, Toadman Interactive is apparently still in just the prototype stages. There is already, “a fun base game to play in the studio” according to Robin Flodin, the CEO of Toadman Interactive.
Being pretty adamant on their plan, Toadman Interactive is intensively listening to the community.
“The reason we are sending out this update is so that we can allow enthusiasts to provide ideas and feedback when we are in the early stages of development,” Flodin remarked.
Tweet:
“We want to hear from you fans because we want to make sure you get to see the most out of this game”. People who wish to give remarks on this new I.G.I. game can directly contact the developers.
