ScreaM and Boaster say Astra overrated, Brimstone better. Results imply otherwise.

During a press conference hosted by Riot Games hosted right before the VCT Masters 2 began, TL ScreaM and FNC Boaster had some pretty interesting thoughts on the newest agent in valorant.

The pre-tournament press conference showed us how different regions looked at the current metas of the game. The current meta is a controller meta constituting Viper and Astra. Astra is the newest controller added to the game and the entire NA region has completely changed its playstyle to fit her into their agent comps. The new controller brings tons of value because of her utility and many regions have recognized that by now. But when someone asked the EU teams' representatives in the conference being ScreaM and Boaster about the reason behind not using her, they had pretty interesting insights about the agent.

FNC Boaster said "I think her ultimate[Cosmic Divide] is just useless. I don’t see it being good whatsoever,” He agreed her sucks and smokes being good but was sure that Brimstone suited their team better.“The fact that I’m the IGL also helps, since I come up with the strats, and he improves our T side. That’s why we use Brimstone. He’s cooler, his smokes are better, I like him.” explained Boaster.

TL ScreaM said the Astra was good but not good enough as people say or think she is. When asked why Team Liquid did not accommodate Astra in their agent pool, he then explained- “It takes time to get used to playing Astra. We didn’t feel like playing this agent. No one in our team wanted to play this agent. So, we’re sticking with Brimstone and Omen. It’s very basic, but it’s working well.”

This is quite interesting because when Version1 played Team Liquid, they won by playing astra! The number of times when the astra sucked the entire team and TL's Jett just dashed ahead of it which resulted in Jett being separated from the entire team almost always was unreal!

This made Team Liquid's attack weak as their main duelist was always away from the rest of the team when the defenders pushed them or fought at them. Many say this and the inability of executing counter starts on the fly were the reasons Team Liquid lost to Version1.
