The Skyesports League 2020 is just around the corner, the official dates were announced earlier today on Skyesports Instagram. 8 teams, each representing a city in India, will fight for a prize pool of ₹10 lacs!
Many Indian esports fanatics were skeptical about Valorant in the beginning, many thought it would fail to be the next big thing, and would die soon. Fortunately enough, we can all agree that it's growing very fast and is catching up with the other imperious esports games like CS:GO. Many Valorant tournaments have been held in the past in India by NODWIN Gaming, The Esports Club, etc. but Skyesports have hit a record of organising a Valorant league in India with a prize pool as high as ₹10,00,000.
The Skyesports League 2020 will commence from 4th of December 2020, and it will feature 8 teams, rather cities of India, each captained by famous influential gaming figures from India.
There's a chance that a part of this tournament might be held offline, which would make it the first LAN event of Valorant in India. Although, nothing is confirmed yet due to COVID issues.
Skyesports had conducted a similar tournament previously named "Sky Showdown", which had featured the same 8 cities with a prizepool of ₹1,50,000. Velocity Gaming (Team Kolkata) were crowned the champions.
