TEC announces BGMI Invitational worth Rs 5 lakh: The Esports Club, popular in India for PC Games' tournaments, has announced its first BGMI tournament today, 17 August 2021. It is going to be an invitational tournament named 'LG Ultragear TEC Invitational BGMI'.

TEC announced, 'We are extremely excited to introduce our first ever mobile esports event; the LG Ultragear TEC Invitational for BGMI! 20 of India's top teams will be competing for a prize pool of INR 5 Lakhs!'


On being asked why did TEC take so long to enter mobile esports, Ishaan Arya, Co-Founder of TEC said, 'Initially, we decided to focus on our strengths, creating some of the best PC esports events in the region over the last 2 years. We felt this was the right time to enter the mobile ecosystem with our first BGMI event with others in the pipeline as well. With regards to going beyond BGMI, it's too early to say but we're always experimenting and evaluating the best options for expansion.'

He added that TEC's approach to BGMI would be similar to other TEC IPs, 'regular running and recurring events for sure'. We can also expect open-for-all BGMI tournaments later this year.

TEC Invitational BGMI prize pool breakup

The TEC Invitational BGMI tournament features Rs 5 lakh as its total prize pool and the exact breakup has not been revealed officially yet. However, our reliable sources have indicated the following prizepool breakup:

  • 1st position: Rs 3 lakh
  • 2nd position: Rs 1.5 lakh
  • 3rd position: Rs 50 thousand

TEC Invitational BGMI schedule and other details

The tournament is expected to be for four days, starting from 21 August 2021. The finals of the tournament will be played on 24 August 2021, as per our sources.

The tournament will feature 20 invited teams from India fighting for the lion's share of the Rs 5 lakh prize pool. The exact team list has not been announced yet, we will update the story accordingly.
