According to sources close to Upcomer, former Luminosity Gaming player Brady “thief” Dever is set to compete with Version1’s Valorant team in place of Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro as a stand-in.
V1 Zellsis was temporarily banned from competing in Valorant tournaments as he tweeted about Riot in a negative way. The tweets were deleted and it is still unclear about what did he exactly say in the aforementioned tweets. Zellsis' suspension will prevent him from competing in the first Challenger Open Qualifier and Main Event of Stage 3. You can check the entire story here.
Thief is set to replace Zellsis for the upcoming North American Valorant Championship Tour Stage 3 qualifier. Version1 is in the second seed of the tournament, which is set to begin on July 1.
Thief will retain Zellsis’ role in the side, according to one source close to Upcomer. Thief was released from Luminosity Gaming Valorant roster a month ago alongside stellar.
It will be pretty interesting to see how V1 will perform as this is not the first time they'll perform with a stand-in. They competed in VCT Masters 2 with a stand-in jammyz who stood in for V1 wippie.
For the following Challengers, Version1 will field:
- Anthony "vanity" Malaspina
- Erik "penny" Penny
- Loic "effys" Sauvageau
- Maxim "wippie" Shepelev
- Brady "thief" Dever
- Ian "Immi" Harding (Coach)
