G2 Esports has signed Cista "keloqz" Wassim and benched Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi.
G2 Esports was the most dominant roster in EU Valorant scene in 2020. They won seven tournaments in a row and had solidified themselves as a force to be reckoned with. But things changed for the team and they slowly began to fall from glory. The team has now decided to completely change their roster in order to rise to the number one spot again.
keloqz was a key component in Megakich's deep run through the Valorant Open Tour France: Spring Qualifier, where the team dominated French powerhouses like Team Vitality and EXCEL. keloqz being a Jett and Raze specialist, joins G2 in a role previously fulfilled by Oscar "Mixwell" Cañellas.
pyth, the only remnant of the original G2 roster aside from Mixwell, has been moved to the bench and is allowed to explore other opportunities.
G2's next appearance is expected to be in Europe's Stage 3 qualifiers, which begin in less than a week.
The G2 Esports roster is now:
- Cista "keloqz" Wassim
- Oscar "Mixwell" Cañellas
- Jose "koldamenta" Luis Aranguren
- Auni "AvovA" Chahade
- Žygimantas "nukkye" Chmieliauskas
